'David Morgan agrees to lead the development of the Mets Sitting Volleyball Team. '
Glasgow Mets are delighted with the agreement of David Morgan, former GB Sitting Volleyball player and manager, to lead the development of the Sitting Volleyball section of the club.
David became involved with Sitting Volleyball 22 years ago and was selected to play for the Great Britain Sitting Volleyball team in the European SV Championships in Pecs, Hungary.
From there he was asked by the National Coach, Gordon Neale to take on the role of Team Manager/Player with GBSV which he was honoured and privileged to have serve for ten years before he retired from the game. During his tenure with the GBSV he travelled & played with the Team in European & World Championships missing out on Olympics in Seoul & Barcelona as a result of failure to achieve the qualifying criteria.
Setting up regional and local tournaments was a major focus in establishing SV throughout the UK. Tournaments were arranged in Southampton, Birmingham, Swindon, West Midlands, Preston Swansea, Cardiff and Tenby North Wales, Glasgow and Dundee on an annual basis to promote Sitting Volleyball throughout the UK.
David's wealth of experience and his contacts in Disabilty Sport, will no doubt stand him and the club in good stead for the future. Club Chairman Alan Krawczyk said, 'David is the ideal man for the job. I am very excited by the project.'
