About Glasgow Mets

Glasgow Mets are a volleyball club who play, and train, in the south side of Glasgow, Scotland.

The club, whilst now being based out of Glasgow, has not always been native to the area. Originating from Blantyre, Glasgow Mets only came to be when then coach, Peter Campbell, brought the club to Holyrood Sports Centre in 2004 prompting the change of name from Blantyre to Glasgow Metropolitan Volleyball Club.

This move brought the club great success as, within the first few years of moving to Glasgow, the club was turned from relegation strugglers into genuine contendors for the Scottish National League bring an end to the monopoly that Su Ragazzi and Kilmarnock had over the league at the time.

Glasgow Mets are now firmly established as one of the premier clubs within Scotland having picked up the 1st Division titles in seasons 2008/09 and seasons 2010/11.

Adding to the prestige of being Scottish Champions Mets have also picked up a number of trophies throughout the years. For details of all of Mets honors click here.
